Interview Experiences
The interview day (building/atmosphere/no breakfast) was long and gloomy. Interviewed DO's and had IMG resident.
Well organized, everyone was very friendly, residents seemed happy, chairman gave lecture to residents, open to answering all questions
Meet with PD, chair, prof
mostly a waste of time
interview with chief, pd, chair
Interview day well planned
PD was straightforward, pleasant
Program Advantages
New chairman seems intent on improving the program. PD seems responsive and nice. Projects/capital improvement in near future.
The residents have a Wii in their call room, Trauma center, It is in NY, New chairman seems committed to improvement, get cardiac imaging at North Shore,
location is nice on LI, inner city-like pathology, subsidized housing
Program Disadvantages
Poor board pass rate, One 1slice CT scanner, No PET/CT, my gut feeling was 4 years of misery
technology is lacking but they rec'd a lot of $ recently
